Geared Construction were engaged to install a new airlock to the City of Wanneroo Library and Community Centre.
The works involved the erection of temporary hoardings, demolition of existing façade, installation of new slab, footings and structural steel to form a new airlock portal, installation of new aluminium and glazing façade, cladding, tiling and external paving alterations.
These works were completed directly across the road from the Mayor and Councillor’s offices so works were of a high-profile nature as well of a high-risk nature working in a busy occupied community building. Noisy, disruptive works were completed out of hours to minimise the impact on the users of the facility hoardings were also erected out of hours to maintain a secure area for the worksite and also minimise the visual effect of the project works from outside the facility.
Through careful planning, early procurement and open communication within the project team we were able to successfully deliver this project ahead of schedule and to a high standard.
Audrie Scott, Project Officer for City of Wanneroo provided the following testimonial:
“I would like to say Geared Construction Pty Ltd were most impressive builders and many compliments came our way during construction as you proceeded to make what could have been a very difficult job easy by handling it in a controlled and professional manner. Geared Construction will also be included on my quotes lists. I would highly recommend your company for any further work.”
