Geared Construction were engaged to demolish, re-build and refurbish the existing clubroom and changerooms including extensive internal remodelling, full services upgrades, new concrete slabs, brickwork, full internal fit-out and refurbishment.
The works also included demolition of the existing roof coverings and asbestos linings and re-roofing along with a new structural steel canopy and associated landscaping and stormwater upgrades.
Works were completed through the winter months which presented the risk of delay due to inclement weather, however through pro-active procurement and careful co-ordination of trades on site the works were able to be completed five weeks ahead of schedule to a high standard.
The new facility also included ambulant and disabled facilities that had to be completed to strict compliance requirements. This was carefully monitored and managed on site to ensure that there were no hold ups with compliance information on completion of the project.
Although the site was separated from the public, the remainder of the park was still in public use for the duration of the project. Site deliveries and traffic management around the area had to be carefully monitored and managed in order to minimise the risk of injury to the general public.
Rob Geersen, President of Coolbinia Bombers provided the following testimonial on completion of the works:
“The Geared Construction team have been amazing. They not only delivered the project ahead of schedule and to a great standard, they have gone the ‘extra mile’ to help the club. We cannot thank Geared Construction enough for all they have done, and understand why they are so highly regarded in the industry.”
